How do you feel right now?
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surroundng environment. Mindfulness also involves acceptance, meaning that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them- without believing that there is a "right" or "wrong" way to think or feel in a given moment. When practicing mindfulness, out thoughts tune into what we are sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.

Three Aspects of Mindful Meditation

Breath
It is important to breathe naturallywhile practicing mindful meditation. Only 25% of your attention should be on your breath.

Body
Mindful meditation is an eyes-open practice and should generally be practiced in a quiet environment. It is important to maintain an upright posture and gaze in front you.

Thoughts
This is the most important aspect of practicing mindfulness. Notice your thoughts entering and leaving your consciousness. Whenever you feel overwhelmed with your thoughts, try focusing yourself back to your breathing and your body.
